Recent white collar employment and recruitment figures reveal a strong return to economic growth is underway with large increases in professional appointments and job listings (according to the Michael Page Employment Index). Importantly companies are predominantly hiring full time positions, a stark contrast to the move to part time employees seen in the last two years as companies looked to improve their bottom line without loosing their workforce.
Specialising in white collar recruitment and contracting accross a suite of companies predominantly in Australia and New Zealand, Clarius Group (formerly Candle Ltd) is positioned well to capitalize on the increase in permanant full time professional appointments. The company is expected to be debt free by mid 2010 after a cap raising in '09 and a cancellation of their dividend policy being used to pay down debt. Costs have been reduced with streamlined workforces and restuctures. Management say they are positioned for strong growth off a fixed cost base and are seeing a pickup in activity. Recent economic data adds weight to their opinion and any pick up in demand will result in strong performance if their costs remain low as expected.
With debt nearly cleared and increases in demand for white collar workers, a return to strong profitability and a potential return of dividend payments, Clarius Group may be a stock to watch through 2010. The possiblity of opportunistic acquisitions by Clarius Group can't be ruled out with additional revenue and client base at a good price being another option for growth.

Since producing the original blog CND's shareprice has moved very favourably from the low to mid 60's up into the mid 70's, returning around 15% in a week or so.
The appreciating shareprice is most likely due to a number of employment figures meeting or exceeding expectations in recent times, making CND look more and more attractive. Well worth watching in this Authors opinion.

Job advertisements rose over 4% in May in a good sign that business remains confident on the outlook for Australia. Clarius Group should continue to benefit from the rebound in Australian markets and remains one to watch over the medium to long term.
